The Future Inn is located within the Red Dragon Centre complex, opposite County Hall in Cardiff Bay. Drive into the complex, turn left at Chiquito’s restaurant and the hotel is at the end of the road. There is ample, free parking for us but please ensure you inform the hotel’s reception of your car numberplate (there is a security patrol to ensure outsiders aren’t abusing the car park!).
The nearest train station is Cardiff Bay, which is about 10 minutes on foot. Also, the Baycar and other buses come down this way from the City Centre.

I’m genuinely sorry for having to change the venue at such short notice and understand that this is going to frustrate the kind souls that have helped me spread the message about this event. Luckily, all previous (re)tweets contained a link to our event website, on which the venue has now been updated. However, there is still a possibility that some people might already have added the event to their diaries and I want to do everything that I can to ensure that nobody turns up at the old venue because they didn’t get this message in time.
Being a free event, I haven’t previously insisted that people register their attendance ahead of time. As such, I don’t have a definitive list of attendees that I can just email in times like these. I’ve learnt a big lesson here, and won’t be making this mistake again!.
As such, if you’re intending to come (or not, come to think of it), please would you pop me a quick email at firstname.lastname@example.org to confirm so I can avoid this situation in the future?

I am really grateful for your support in doing all we can to ensure everyone turns-up at the right place. I’ll be heartbroken if people make the effort to show-up… but at the wrong place.
On a personal note
I discovered this afternoon that our previous venue was no longer able to honour our booking for the forthcoming Cardiff Internet Marketing event on Monday 14 May.
After a bit of an almost-last-minute flap, I’ve managed to secure us a smart conference suite at the fabulous Future Inn hotel in Cardiff Bay. I publicly want to thank Nick Ashby, Conference Coordinator at Future Inns, for going above and beyond the call of duty in arranging us a great room at a discount. Nick: you’ve helped me a lot today.
We’ll be buying our own teas and coffees (and and other drinks) at the main bar in the hotel. (Apologies to those I had promised free tea and coffee as the hotel cannot offer us this considering the price I’m paying for the room, but I’m sure you’ll agree that we can show our thanks to the hotel by buying our own drinks on this occasion).
