On 18 February 2013, Denis Campbell, writer, publisher and founder of UK Progressive Magazine, will share how he built his own online brand and show you the best ways that you can build your own personal brand and that of your business.
Building Your Online Brand
Denis Campbell is the host of the global issues television programme ‘World View with Denis Campbell.’ He is editor of UK Progressive Magazine and author of the book ‘Egypt Unshackled: Using Social Media to @#:) the System’, which was released in June of 2010, just four months after the fall of Mubarak, and traces the 18-days of revolution in Egypt from 25 January to 11 February using journalistic narrative and the social media Tweets of those in and around the square, covering the fighting at their peril and supporting the revolution around the globe. He is also the author of ‘Billionaire Boys Election Freak Show’, the first accounting of the recently completed US election campaign tracing the race from the GOP’s 7 dwarves in the February primaries through last year’s conventions.
Focused on journalism most of the last dozen years, he was a businessman first having been a global consultant for PwC and served stints with two very large global law firms. A serial entrepreneur, he is always searching for great ideas to build into businesses but his passion is writing and reporting. It found him in 2000 when George W. Bush stole a Presidential election without consequence and he has been fighting for transparency and accountability in both government and media ever since.
He holds degrees from the Jesuit-university, Boston College and Northeastern University. He also spent two years on a global banking marketing research project team at The University of Colorado in Boulder. He has lived in Europe the last 15-years in both The Netherlands and Wales and he writes and films from a 200 year old farmhouse atop the cliffs of Wales’ Glamorgan Heritage coast. The same coast where landowners tied lanterns to sheep tails to crash returning ships on the rocks below, the bodies were then stored in the local pub’s bake-house so it is quite and haunted and the monastery brothers from a circa 1000 ruined structure in view from his office window brewed and consumed their own beer in mass quantities. “How can one live in a land of such great stories and story-tellers and not write?”
